Nestled along the coastline of Newport, Rhode Island, the Cliff Walk offers a breathtaking backdrop for a summer engagement session. The dramatic seascapes and historic charm were the perfect scenery for a perfect couple. We started off on the walkway with some walking and candid photos, then made our way towards the best spots of the session that featured vast ocean views & a stunning cliff they posed on.
How They Met:
Gina and Robert (Rob) met in college. “We actually attended Wentworth Institute of Technology together, so having a wedding at Wentworth By The Sea actually started out as a joke but then we fell in love with the venue! Rob and I were both computer science majors and we were friends for a year and a half first, as we just couldn’t get the timing right, but eventually friendship turned into love and the rest is history! He truly is my best friend and I don’t know what I would do without him.”
Engagement Story:
They were together for 6 years prior to being engaged. “My birthday is July 10th and Rob’s is July 20th so we almost always do something together on the 15th. We parked at our college, walked through the MFA, and then began walking to a lunch reservation in Back Bay, when Rob wanted to take a detour to the reflecting pool! This was the place where he first told me he loved me! He got down on one knee and it was the most amazing moment ever! Apparently I said yes before he asked me anything. I was completely surprised, luckily!” They had an incredibly hard summer and were faced with challenges no one should ever have to go through. Rob’s parents were victim to a serious accident, sustained major injuries and went through years of hospitals and physical therapy. Gina and Rob were by their side the whole way. Thankfully, they are doing much better now, enjoying retired life, and will be able to attend their wedding at the Wentworth by the Sea.
