Lisa and Ryan’s Portsmouth, New Hampshire engagement session was absolutely dreamy and definitely one of my all time favorites. These photographs look straight out of a magazine! We chose two locations which gave us a lot of variety. We started on a rocky beach called Wallis Sands Beach in Portsmouth, NH where Lisa donned a gorgeous white tulle dress from Windsor Store that blew with the wind and allowed for light and airy, ethereal photos (and some fun ones mixed in too with Ryan giving Lisa a piggyback ride).

We then made our way downtown for some more editorial, evening cityscape shots. Lisa and Ryan were seriously naturals in front of the camera! Lisa has lots of pageant experience and Ryan could be a model himself, too! You can tell how much love for each other they have and how they truly are best friends.

They both have wedding industry experience as well and had a clear vision of how they wanted their engagement photos to turn out. Lisa, owner of Lavo Beauty Co. in Manchester, NH, has been a number 1 voted New Hampshire makeup artist for the past 10 years, and Ryan used to work at the Shattuck Golf Club, a wedding venue in Jaffrey, NH in the Monadnock region (and, coincidentally, went to school in the same town as me, Groton, Massachusetts!)

Ryan did an amazing job with the proposal and totally surprised Lisa; “He proposed to me on the marginal way in Ogunquit, Maine. I had mentioned that since I was a little girl I thought that a particular spot on the walk would we awesome for a proposal. He made it happen! He asked my friend who is also a photographer and her fiancé to come to the beach that day as well (really he wanted them to get the video and photos) I had no idea, I was shocked! It was amazing :)”

I’m already counting down the days until their wedding next May at the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel & Spa!
